On Friday July 6, 2012, 150 golfers took a swing to end global poverty, raising $220,000 at the Seattle Partnership Golf Tournament. In addition to the day's event, 250 donors and 125 volunteers joined in a dinner reception to support Aga Khan Foundation U.S.A.'s (AKF USA) projects, which work to reduce poverty, hunger, illiteracy and illness in Africa and Asia.

The tournament attracted high-level corporate executives, civic leaders and local celebrities. Guests included Lieutenant Governor of Washington Brad Owen; Petra Walker, the German Consul; and corporate leadership from Wells Fargo, Cisco and Amazon. The events featured a hole-in-one contest for a FIAT 500, a silent auction, helicopter ball drop and a caddy sale.
