Since 2006 the U.S. Department of Agriculture sponsored Mali Area Development Program has been supporting an integrated, multi-sector development program in the Mopti region of Mali. Winner of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s 'Global Leadership Award' : Aga Khan Planning & Building Services, Pakistan (AKPBS, P) is working in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) under it's Partnership for Clean Indoor Air (PCIA). The project aims to improve smokeless stove designs and build and strengthen a market-based supply chain in northern Pakistan to support and enhance the creation of private enterprises linked to producing, distributing and selling products.
